She carries the book that got her started on her reading journey - we won't say what it is, but it's about a certain young wizard . . . the book is made of cardstock and paperclay, and has a ribbon bookmark. If ever anyone worked at her magick, it's Clarinda! She's been trying that "vanishing" spell for months. Then suddenly - "poof" - it works!
Clarinda is a 15" beauty modified from Mary Tressler's "All About Position" pattern. She's an all-over soft sculpt in cotton with synthetic hair. Her frilly underthings are lace, and her "boa"-trimmed robe and matching bead-trimmed slippers are hand-dyed acetate charmeuse. Her leopard-print upholstered ice cream parlor-style chair and pedestal table (with lighted "magick" wired by the artist) are handcrafted. All accessories, except for the candles and the actual crystal ball, are handmade by the artist: Sculpey ball stand; chalice with "wine"; inscribed candleholders; small cauldron with "burning" incense; plate with real herbs; spells from her "Book of Shadows"; wand embellished with a crystal.
Clarinda's expression is not an illusion. The pattern was modified so that her mouth really is open. And what exactly disappeared? We're not telling!
